This is a 7 Days Uganda safari that will take us through the land of the tree climbing lions Queen Elizabeth national park. The park is undoubtedly Uganda’s most famous national park and traveler’s destination.
The existence of varied ecosystem to mention the beautiful lakes, extensive savanna, the natural forests and fertile swamps hence is making it the best place for the big games, ten primate species of course including chimps, 600 bird species, to Bwindi Impenetrable national park home of the endangered mountain Gorillas, Lake Bunyonyi. Also known as the “place of many little birds”. This is for sure the must visit places after your Gorilla trek. It is considered 2nd deepest Lake in Africa.
The lake is safe for swimming as it is also Biliazaiar free. Dotted by 29 islands of various silhouettes and sizes, surrounded by a ring of terraced farms, their greenery accenting this mystical lake like a lovely frame and is no wonder that Lonely Planet called it “A scene from Lord of the Rings. “
Some of the activities around the lake include but not limited Swimming -Lake Bunyonyi is Hippo-Crocodile-Bilharzia Free, 3. Dug-Out Canoeing Boating, Nature Walks and Hikes, Mountain Biking, Bird, Watching Cultural Interactive Village Visits, Boat Ride to Akamene or Punishment Island, Island Explorations.
You will be picked up from your hotel accommodation in Kampala by our guide/driver. The journey today starts at 630 so we can beat the Kampala traffic that may delay us. We will head to Queen Elizabeth national park. The park is undoubtedly Uganda’s most famous national park and traveler’s destination. The existence of varied ecosystem to mention the beautiful lakes, extensive savanna, the natural forests and fertile swamps hence is making it the best place for the big games, ten primate species of course including chimps, 600 bird species. This being a long travel day, we will check into our lodge for a well-deserved rest or you can opt to have a mini evening drive through the park before dinner.The journey will take us approximately 8 hrs including all necessary stops.
Today we will be up early morning to a hot cup of tea or coffee before disembarking on an early morning game drive where we expect to catch sights of warthogs, buffaloes, leopards, and many others inclusive of primates like the colobus monkeys. We will return to the lodge for lunch and refreshments before going for an exciting boat cruising on the Kazinga Channel. Kazinga Channel is approximated at a 40-meter length and it joins two lakes; Edward and George found on the western and eastern side respectively. This channel is one of those fundamental attractions in the Queen Elizabeth National Park that many tourists are pulled to go and see while on safari. Here you get to enjoy views of numerous flora and fauna while on the launch cruise, look out for spectacular sights of bird species, flora and fauna too. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge for a well-deserved rest.
After an early morning breakfast, we will check-out and transfer to the Ishasha section famous for its tree climbing lions. The Ishasha sector is eminently perceived for its occupant Tree climbing lions that are an outstanding captivation and one among the features on all safaris taken inside Queen Elizabeth National park. The Lions are so often spotted holding tight branches of colossal fig trees while the Uganda Kob (which is the real nourishment to these lions) brush in the fields of the Ishasha segment. We will head to Bwindi impenetrable park after the Isasha experience reaching this evening for dinner and well deserved rest.
We have an early morning delightful breakfast at your lodge; we will head for Gorilla trekking briefing before we hit the trails of Bwindi impenetrable forest to the gorilla family that will have been assigned to us. Expect to trek for close to 5-6hrs or less depending on how easily we get to see these endangered species. Coming face to face with these creatures is one of the most rewarding experiences you will go away with from Uganda. We will have packed lunch, dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
We shall transfer to Lake Bunyonyi also called place with many little birds in southwestern Uganda. The lake is considered to be the second deepest lake in Africa. We will not have active activities here as it is a good place to relax after vigorous gorilla trekking and the Batwa cultural experience. (Batwa also commonly known as pygmies, are an endangered group of people around Echuya Forest Reserve in Kisoro and Kabale Districts of South-Western Uganda). Other optional activities at Lake Bunyunyi will be canoeing, visiting some of the islands around the lake, swimming in the lake among other.
Lake Bunyonyi is great place to end your Gorilla trekking safari in Uganda. The lake also referred to as “Magical Lake in Uganda “also called a place of very many little birds is considered to be the second deepest lake in Africa. We will have a day to relax and chill at this beautiful lake enjoying the stunning views of the lake. Other activities here will be optional which include: Swimming -Lake Bunyonyi is Hippo-Crocodile-Bilharzia Free, Nature Walks and Hikes, Mountain Biking, bird Watching, Boat Ride to Akamene or Punishment Island.
This is our last day and we check out heading to Kampala or Entebbe for our next flight.
